Annual Halls Ferry Landing Service Project

Restoring Our Local Waterways

The Salem-Creekside Rotary Club proudly teams up with Oregon State Parks every year for a hands-on restoration day at Halls Ferry Landing. This annual service project focuses on maintaining and improving public access to one of our region's beautiful natural resources. By dedicating our time and sweat equity, our members work directly on the ground to preserve the area for local outdoor enthusiasts, families, and boaters.

Clearing the Path for Our Community

Our core volunteer efforts at the landing include:

  • Vegetation Removal: Clearing away dense, overgrown brush and invasive plants encroaching on public spaces.
  • Trail Maintenance: Dressing, leveling, and clearing walking paths to prevent erosion and tripping hazards.
  • River Access Improvement: Ensuring our community has safe, clean, and completely unobstructed access to the Willamette River.

Fellowship Through Shared Service

Like all of our club initiatives, this park restoration day is rooted in camaraderie and our core motto of "Service Above Self." Working side-by-side alongside Oregon State Parks allows our members to connect outside of regular meetings while making a visible, lasting impact on Salem's public lands. It is a rewarding experience that perfectly blends environmental stewardship, hard work, and community fellowship.
