Rotary District 5100, Governor Jeannine Murrell, joined Creekside Rotary President, Patrick Jackson, September 19th, as the club inducted Dan Basinger and Margie Lowe to the Paul Harris Fellowship at Danny's on the Green, Creekside Golf Club.

Dan Basinger and Margie Lowe were awarded as Paul Harris Fellows, in recognition for the ways in which their lives exemplify the humanitarian and educational objectives of the Rotary.

“It gives me great pleasure to present to you on behalf of the Trustees of The Rotary Foundation, the Paul Harris Fellow lapel pin and certificate, as a symbol of your appreciation for and support of the programs of the Rotary Foundation” proclaimed DG Jeannine Murrell.

The Paul Harris Fellowship was established in 1957 for the contributions made by Rotarians in support of the humanitarian and educational programs of the Rotary Foundation. These programs include an array of projects that save and invigorate the lives of people around the world and enhance international friendship and understanding.

Foundation programs provide educational opportunities, food, portable water, health care, immunizations, and shelter for millions of persons. Since its founding, the Foundation has spent more than $4 billion on life changing, sustainable projects. For as little as 60 cents, a child can be protected from polio. $50 can provide clean water to help fight waterborne illness.

It all started at the 1917 convention, where outgoing Rotary president Arch Klumph proposed setting up an endowment “for the purpose of doing good in the world.” That one idea, and an initial contribution of $26,50, set in motion a powerful force that has transformed millions of lives around the globe. With 91% of funds spent on programs. These activities are funded, implemented and managed by Rotarians and Rotary clubs around the globe.
